Twittering Machine was a project created by Tim Hill around 2005. Combining improvising musicians, projections and sculptures. We were inspired by Dave Young's artworks and the Paul Klee painting of the same name, images of animal and machine hybrids, living music boxes and the phantastical landscapes these might live in.
The group developed its own reflective world, full of melodic noise and improvised melody.

Instruments included Hurdy Gurdy, cello, theremin, saxes and double bass, plus live sound manipulation. Dave Young projected his own rich images and built sets and sculptures to surround the band.

We did gigs at the Rising Sun Arts Centre Reading and for the Oxford Improvisers Collective, then performed as a smaller group for a Hurdy Gurdy Festival in Lancaster, Cliff Stapleton and Tim Hill also performed as a duo as few times including once at the Cube Bristol. The recordings are from these gigs and each track features an image by Dave Young
